We understand that the costs associated with Sixth Form can sometimes place additional pressure on families. Our 16–19 Bursary Fund is available to support eligible students with education-related costs, helping to ensure that financial circumstances do not become a barrier to fully participating in Sixth Form life.

How can the bursary help?

Depending on a student’s individual circumstances and financial need, support may be available towards:

• Travel to and from school, including termly bus passes
• Books and equipment needed for their studies
• School uniform
• Educational visits, field trips and other course-related costs
• Costs associated with attending university interviews and open days
• Other exceptional costs directly connected with a student’s education

We recognise that every family’s circumstances are different, so each application is considered individually. Support is based on eligibility, the student’s individual financial need and the funding available.

Students and families who experience unexpected financial difficulties are also encouraged to speak to us, as additional support may be considered where appropriate.

Our aim is simple: we want every student to be able to access the opportunities available to them and focus on succeeding in their Sixth Form studies without unnecessary financial barriers.

Students wishing to access the bursary should complete a bursary application and provide the appropriate supporting evidence.
