Waverley Education Foundation Trust Careers Impact
To measure and assess the impact of our careers programme, we use a combination of different methods aligned with the Gatsby Benchmarks and statutory guidance.
These are featured here:
Destination Data
- Track student progression into further education, apprenticeships, employment, or training after leaving school.
- Compare outcomes against local and national benchmarks.
Student Voice
- Conduct surveys and focus groups to gather feedback on the usefulness and relevance of careers activities.
- Ask students about confidence in career decision-making and awareness of opportunities.
Employer and Stakeholder Feedback
- Collect input from employers, colleges, and training providers involved in the programme.
- Assess the quality and impact of work experience or employer encounters.
Skills and Knowledge Development
- Use pre- and post-programme assessments to measure improvements in employability skills, career knowledge, and aspirations.
Engagement Metrics
- Monitor participation rates in careers events, work experience, and guidance interviews.
- Evaluate whether all student groups (including disadvantaged and SEND) are accessing appropriate and realistic opportunities.
Compliance with Gatsby Benchmarks
- Regularly audit the programme against the eight Gatsby Benchmarks to ensure best practice using the Careers and Enterprise Company Matrix and Careers Development Institute Frameworks
Alumni Tracking
- Follow up with alumni to understand long-term impact on career progression.
We are proud to have strategic partnerships with the Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC) , West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA), and the National Schools Outreach Company (NSOC) This is a significant strength to our Careers programme and further enhances student aspirations running throughout the Trust and creating wider community awareness.
Our CEIAG programme is reviewed annually using the Careers and Enterprise Company Internal Leadership Audit profile, Linked Careers Governors, The Gatsby Benchmark Toolkit, Compass + Evaluative Reports and our Trust -wide CEIAG Policy. The next date for the next review will be July 2026.
