Our School

Tutor programme

The tutorial system plays a key role in the support of our students’ pastoral and academic progress. Students are placed in a tutor group led by our experienced post 16 tutor team. Tutors work with our students every morning to monitor progress, assist with applications, deliver sessions based on post 16 life and transition into adulthood, and help to solve problems or difficulties that may be encountered.

PSHE focussing on post 16 life skills will be delivered during form time. A key part of this will be developing an understanding of life in modern Britain.

Parental Contact:

Regular contact with home has been crucial in our success.  The three way partnership between our staff, parents and students is a key drive in establishing progress and student attainment. Parents can request a private meeting with any of their child’s teachers at any time throughout the academic year. There is always a point of contact for students and parents encouraging excellent communication at all times.  We also have a school newsletter which has a dedicated sixth form page to keep parents informed of key events.

Student Support:

Students have access to one to one advice, guidance and support from experienced staff throughout their course.

This includes:

  • Financial bursary to support with study costs
  • Study Skills
  • Support with revision
  • Financial advice
  • Career Planning / interview preparations
  • Health and Welfare support
  • Transition into employment
  • Opportunity to be First Aid trained
